Summer Fling

Hello!
Today officially marks the end of my 2.5 month long stint with MMTP. And I would say that the most invaluable lesson learnt is that of forbearance - the ability to properly function and to keep my insatiable cravings to shop in check whilst being surrounded by ALL the pretty clothes. I have also learnt that a lot of toil and sweat (literally!) goes into the preparation of each carefully curated collection, so what I'd like to do is to give all the other blogshop pixies out there a thumbs up! Ok, make that TWO big fat thumbs up.
When you transit from JC to varsity life, and you ditch your trusty 'ol uniform in exchange for "home" clothing, what do you do? You arm yourself with comfortable knits or casual sundresses that in anticipation of school. Although I've always been (and still am) a hard core fan of fancy dresses, I realized that they aren't so practical for school or work, not unless you're a fashion major. I thus found myself levitating towards MMTP for my occasional fix of appropriate "school-going" getups because their clothes are just so wearable. They go with almost everything and anything because they're simple, but far from boring. And for this simple reason, I foresee that I'd still be an ardent supporter in the years' to come! Trust me, I'm an engineer ;)
Therefore, it is hardly a coincidence that the upcoming collection that I'm about to unveil is - in my most humble opinion - the mother of all collections!
I've made it a point to keep a certain distance away from crop tops because it's so difficult to find the perfect crop top that doesn't look too sleazy. But where crop tops are concerned, this particular piece must be the gung ho sister of all ordinary crop tops available in the market. Go rocker chic with a high slit maxi skirt or opt for a more pristine kind of look with a high waisted skirt. Available in 3 colours: White, Wine and Black.
Ditzy floral skirts seem to also be a wardrobe staple for any girl. However, with so many floral skater skirts to choose from, it can be a headache having to choose one that suits you to a T. Nonetheless, when I first laid eyes on this skirt, to say that it was love at first sight would be undermining my gravitation towards this skirt. This skirt is floral, yes, but it's not too girly - just the way I like it.
But if you're inclined towards a more laid back kind of look and you find putting prints together with other prints too much of a hassle, we highly recommend this striped pair of high waisted shorts. Faculty tees, slouchy tops? Easy peasy. Just tuck them in and you're good to go.
Speaking of slouchy tops, you just have to meet the nautical striped top that we brought in for you girls. Don't say we
bojio. With the material being so light and flowy, it feels like a second skin!
Rompers are anything but complicated and they hardly ever need any accessorizing to make a bold statement. What more with a oversized romper that's lined with flirty polka dot prints? Thus, do yourself a favour today - things really don't have to be so complicated with this romper :D
We are well aware that first impressions are the most lasting, and of the truth that lies therein. Thus, put your best foot forward whether it is your first date or if you're meeting his parents for the first time. With this pristine white number or the vintage floral little number below, there's no way you could go wrong.
I'd love to believe that there's a sassy Sex and the City goddess in every one of us. Watch how this alluring chiffon number sways in the wind as you strut your stuff! In fact, I'm loving how the puffy sleeves and smooth chiffon ends of the dress contribute to its overall elegance!
As always,
Nicole xx

Summer Sunshine

Hi all!
Yet another week as come and gone with the blink of an eye, and this could only mean one thing - the launch of a new collection!
With gorgeous floral embroidery grazing its front, this self-manufactured dress spells bohemian chic and we are loving every inch of it! Spruce it up with a floral headband or chunky bangles and your getup is complete. What I love about this piece is that it is not excessively flamboyant, which makes it a perfect piece for work or for school (especially since school reopens soon).
If you loved our Wanderlust Bustier Playsuit, then you are sure to love this self-manufactured playfully feminine dress, which is another one of our Summer renditions! This cute-as-a-button dress goes well with a pair of wooden wedges or a simple pair of bohemian sandals.
We are no stranger to cut in tops or cut in dresses or cut in anything. And they're all the rage for a reason, which is the fact that they are super flattering and they give the impression of slender shoulders. Imagine our bewilderment when we spotted this cut in dress which has extremely attention-grabbing porcelain prints emblazoned all over - we knew we had to bring this piece in for you girls.
In sunny Singapore, it's Summer all day, everyday! This tropical romper thus couldn't be more perfect for a weather that's as humid and warm as ours!
Available in 4 colours (black, lilac, yellow and white), there's a colour for almost any ensemble! Basics add a minimalistic finishing touch to any outfit effortlessly. While this is true, whoever it was who said that basics are boring has clearly not seen this off-shoulder top. Dress it down with a pair of shorts or glam it up with a pair of jeggings or a high waisted skirt for a dressier look - this off-shoulder top is so versatile I just had to keep one for myself.
We manufactured this airy chiffon cami with one thought in mind - which was to make it every girl's essential wardrobe staple. Indeed, as simple as it looks, it goes impeccably well with almost every outfit. So what are you waiting for? Make a new best friend with this airy chiffon cami today!
It's back to school in about a month's time. With this pair of Wildflowers Shorts, you will never need to lose sleep or pull your hair out over what to wear to lectures or tutorials because it's both comfy and fancy! All it requires to complete your look is a basic top - which is admittedly not too much effort on your part. (:
As always,
Nicole xx

Summer Sixties
Sunday, July 7, 2013 || 8:25 PM
I hope the first week of July has treated
you well :) If it hasn't, just bear with it
a little longer till the weekend, book an appointment now for a relaxing spa to look forward to on Saturday, maybe make plans for short weekend trip (Batam?) or in the meantime, online retail therapy! Here are some MMTP sneaks to whet your appetite ;)
If you are a fan of London's street fashion, then let me introduce to you MMTP's Crochet Waist Sundress that will look great paired with a biker jacket, or throwing over a denim shirt, or perhaps Doc Marts for some edge. We are loving this Topshop inspiration, especially the crochet details that subtly show some skin, yet looking sweet. We've fully lined our design for more comfort, as we know how sheerness is always a concern.
Perhaps the perfect day-to-night playsuit is hard to find but once you do, it will work wonders for your body. This colourful piece that we have brought in not only gives a silhouette of longer legs, The black waist detail makes your waist look smaller and the bright watercolor is definitely a head-turner.
Houndstooth somehow never goes out of season for long. It's made a comeback this year, so whether you're a fan of this season's monochrome or sixties trend, this mod top is a statement piece that will help you to complete your outfit. Match this with our Masquerade Lace shorts from the Carousel of Fun collection and style a voluminous hairdo with a headband and you're good to go.
Now that the haze has cleared up, and it has been nothing short of great weather in the day, how about planning a picnic or brunch for the weekend? This daisy fit flare dress was love at first sight for us. The well-embroidered florals and summery sixties feel, matched with our upcoming rattan box bag, make the perfect weekend outfit.
As Nic is currently away for her school camp, I'm taking over for the week. Though it is just a short 1 week stint, it has been a great pleasure working for Serene and MMTP. Not only do I get to experience how a blogshop operates but I get surrounded clothes everyday! (You don't know the joy until you are in it) Clothes here are so pretty that I want to bring everything home!
Right now, I will sign off and leave you in the hands of Serene and Nicole for the weeks to come. Have a great weekend everyone and be safe! :)
Love,
Xm

All about fun
Sunday, June 30, 2013 || 7:37 AM
This June has been jam-packed with pleasant surprises for us. To date, we finally installed our very own in-house studio, but only after putting in many laborious hours of arranging our stocks neatly into piles on our new racks. What's more is that we welcomed a new face on board the MMTP family. And no, we're not taking one giant leap for humanity, but we are slowly but surely taking baby steps towards giving our brand a whole new image!
In other news...to say that our next instalment is 'fun' would be a gross understatement of what it really is. It's a curious case of fun and flirty, cheerful florals and polished elegance all in one collection - a collection that I'm certain would be to die for!
(Pardon the lack of photos in this behind-the-scenes blogpost. It's partly because I was too engrossed with the photoshoot itself and partly because there are so many pretty clothes in the next collection and I want to give all of you a surprise.)
Anyways, let me introduce you to our floral chiffon maxi skirt. I love how it is very floral but not excessively gaudy. Additionally, while other maxi skirts typically end of with a "straight cut", this maxi ends of with a V shape. Don't underestimate the power of this detail (all you petite girls, we hear ya) as it accentuates and gives the appearance of height ;)
Perfect for school, work and play, this cold shoulder top goes with almost everything! Pssst have we mentioned how ultra good it looks when paired with the chiffon maxi skirt? Hint: Refer to the pictures above. Tentatively, you could pair it with our
Mesmerizing Aztec Shorts and be all set for the beach with your girlfriends.
You may also love the cut-in graphic tank which oozes personality as errrr you can see HAHA. Contrary to widely held beliefs, patterned tops are not that difficult to pair! It really depends on how bold you are willing to go. Nonetheless, anything goes with a pair of black shorts. In fact, do look out for the black shorts below as we have brought it in too!
With the blink of an eye, my 3 month holiday is almost over, and so would my stint with MMTP in a months' time ): I don't mean to sound so preachy but imma treasure the last few moments I have here and take ALL the photos while I still can :')
P/S: Back then when it used to be, 'Serene the model' has now become, 'Serene the photographer' haha.
As always,
Nic xx

The Class Edition
Friday, June 21, 2013 || 6:14 AM
Hello!
We were fortunate to have had our outdoor photo shoot before the haze occurred. /phew/ This time, we went to the majestic Raffles Hotel for our shoot because we felt that it was apt, given the super chic, super glam collection that we've prepared for you girls (:
But because there are just too many exciting designs that are upcoming, we also had to make do with the limited space available in our environment (y) and of course we had to use this opportunity to showcase our structured blazer ;p
It is a well-known fact that plain, simple pieces are the easiest to work with. You can choose to dress up or dress down by simply alternating between your choice of accessories and shoes. In order to align ourselves with the general elegance of this collection, we paired the Breakfast at Tiffany's dress with a chunky gold necklace and a pair of fuschia pumps. As such, brunch has never been classier.
We are officially midway into Summer, but no Summer is complete without the florals that symbolically represent it. Thus, we brought in the Edith Floral Peplum top (Available in both white and black). Peplum tops are great for tummy concealment and figure emphasis, giving you a more slender frame (my personal life-saver!)
Although summer is symbolized by loud colours, don't ditch your pastels too soon, as they haven't completely waned in popularity. In fact, the emphasis this season is on contrasting colours (for e.g. white on black and vice versa). To combine this with out newfound love for all things modern boho and classic sophisticate, we manufactured the New Yorker Blazer, which is a structured blazer that plays with contrasting colours. Be spoilt for choice as we attempt to contrast white/black, mint/white and navy/white. And and and the way the buttons are positions are so...tres chic. SO GO AHEAD AND TAKE MY MONEY, TAKE ALL MY MONEY!

If you can never find it in your heart to splurge your hard-earned money on a branded bag but still want a bag that's atas enough to lug around, then the Box Flat Bag is the bag for you! And if the neon yellow bag is particularly outstanding, it's prolly because it's contrasted with our Neon Lights Dress - which would also be availabile in the upcoming collection! I couldn't resist keeping this for myself because anything cut-in (i.e: cut-in tops, cut-in dresses...) makes my flabby arms appear smaller than they really are (This assertion is w/out scientific backing but is purely psychological. At least to me.)
Pssst...guess who got themselves a new studio! I'm so excited for the collection after next ;)
As always,
Nic xx
